Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia was established in 1682 and is often referred to as the Birthplace of the Nation because this is where the famous Declaration of Independence was signed. The city bristles with interesting historic sites that attract thousands of visitors each year. You can take a guided tour of Independence National Historical Park where you can see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and then move on to the Valley Forge National Historical Park. For a change of pace you can make your way to Reading Terminal Market, which claims to be America’s oldest Farmer’s Market. Art lovers can spend the afternoon at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. 25 of the Oldest Cities in the United States - Photo: viii/Fotolia
